BIW doing a some R&D

Here's a little dork-out post of some of the music projects that have been going on in the BIW Lab.

Electric Harpsichord with Guitar Strings
This is the latest music project. It works a like a harpsichord but uses electric guitar strings and magnetic pickups. It also has a built-in preamp that can boost up the gain. It will probably take a while to complete so don't expect to see it on stage at the next show.
Here's a close-up of the picking or plucking thing-- whatever you want to call it.

Pick-up winding mechanism... This is too much info, isn't it?

Before that, i built an input selector switch with volume and tone control. I should probably use it...

Finally, i just started working on this Orpheum 1860, which Dave got from somewhere here in Brooklyn. I guess it's from Japan and the 60's and is awesome.
